Intelligence Online riporta la notizia secondo la quale il centro per la raccolta delle immagini satellitari dell'Unione Europea andrà incontro ad una riorganizzazione funzionale al miglioramento delle sue prestazioni.
"By the end of 2010 , the EU's Centre for Satellite Imagery in Torrejon, Spain, is due to be connected up the 'EU Secret' document exchange network and will be in direct contact with the European Union Military Staff and the office of the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy (…).
In september 2009, several EU member states expressed their dissatisfaction with Torrejon and threatened to withdraw its funding. The centre, wich employs 65 analysts from 21 countries, agreed to review its procedures and to work on more operational products.
The EU's future European External Action Service will have operational responsibility for Torrejon, whose tasks will continue to be set by the Council of Europe's Political and Security Committee, in other words, the EU member states."
